The family institution plays a vital role in the country's development process and in efforts towards maintaining the well-being of the community and nation. A healthy, harmonious and solid family can contribute to community well-being, united citizens as well as a solid and sustainable nation development. These matters were voiced by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, Member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Berakas 'B' at the Launch of the Family Day Celebration for Mukim Berakas B. This afternoon's function took place at the community hall in Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme, Jalan 77.

According to Yang Berhormat, Islam highly encourages love and family ties. Therefore, village and mukim residents are urged to take part in any activities and events organised such as sales booths, domestic science exhibition and sports event - towards strengthening the family institution.

The 3-day event is organised by the Women's Bureau of Mukim Berakas B in collaboration with the Mukim and Village Consultative Council. The celebration is hoped to further strengthen the existing family ties which will then produce to a harmonious community which can contribute towards nation building.
