The government will continue to give the policy of diversifying the country's economic activities and sources its priority.

The objective of the policy is to ease business, investment and trade activities in support of a stronger, larger as well as a more balanced and sustainable economic development.

To achieve this objective, the government has implemented several reforms on some initiatives including Ease of Doing Business.

For public understanding of the reforms the Ministry of Finance is holding a Roadshow on the Ease of Doing Business Initiative 2016. The 3-day roadshow began today at the Ministry of Finance Building.

During the roadshow, officers from several government agencies will give briefings on the Ease of Doing Business Initiative.

Among the agencies involved are the Treasury Department, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Employee Trust Fund, Revenue and Registration of Companies and Business Names Section, as well as other relevant agencies including those under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), Ports Department and Darussalam Enterprise (DARe).

The Roadshow is on from 0830 in the morning until 1600 hours in the afternoon.

According to Dayang Khairul Bariah binti Ahmad, Senior Customs Superintendent of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the public can practise using the Brunei Darussalam National Single Window and companies can register directly with the department.

Pengiran Md Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Sabuddin, Municipal Officer at the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department, said the roadshow aims to inform the public on the procedure on how to start a business, and enquiries can be made directly at the counter.
