25 Officers Receive the Aeronautical Meteorological Personnel Competency Certificate

​25 officers who have succeeded in the Aeronautical Meteorological Personnel Competency, AMP assessment received their certificate at a function that was held yesterday morning. The certificate presentation ceremony took place at the D'Anggerek Service Apartment in Berakas.

 

Certificates were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Hj Mohammad Yussof, the Minister of Communications, to 4 Aeronautical Meteorological Forecasters and 21 Aeronautical Meteorological Observers.

 

 Earlier, Awang Muhamad Husaini bin Aji, the Acting Director of Meteorology in his speech said that the competency assessment is one of the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department's continuous efforts in upholding the Ministry of Communication's strategy to ensure effective adherence to international standards and requirements in guaranteeing the safety of air transportation.

 

 The competency assessment which is held once every 3 years will assist the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department in achieving its operational objectives, and enhance the quality of flight services aimed at the safety of the public as well as aircraft passengers at the Brunei International Airport. It will also ensure that every Meteorological Forecasters and Observers who are stationed at the Brunei International Airport meets the stipulated performance criteria as well as enhance the local's skills and capabilities to the international level, thereby enabling the department to determine the continuous training needs. Also present were Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications, and Doctor Awang Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.
