To enhance patriotism among youths and to urge them to continue to contribute to the monarch, nation, race and nation through arts and culture, in line with the concept of Malay Islamic Monarchy are among the objectives of the Islamic Arts and Cultural Event. It was organised by Student Council of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.

This morning's event was held in conjunction with the 35th National Day Celebration. Among those taking part in the event was Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major GeneralDato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Various aspects of the country's arts and culture were showcased during the event including poetry declamation, martial arts and berbalas pantun or Quatrains contest.

Islamic Calligraphy Writing demonstration by Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Raes of KUPU SB was also the focus of the event.

Also present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim, Member of the Legislative Council.
