 April 5th, 2019  |  07:47 AM  |   283 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Ministry of Education yesterday afternoon also held a Special Talk in conjunction with the Israk Mikraj celebration. The special talk stressed on the daily prayer as the first act of worship to be assessed by Allah the Almighty. If it is performed properly and sincerely, other acts will also be accepted by Allah the Creator, but if the prayer is rejected then the person will be without the blessings of God. Such is the greatness and importance of the daily prayer. It is different from other acts of worship and no Muslim is exempted from performing it.

Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, the Minister of Education.  The special talk titled 'Prayer Shapes a Pious Ummah" which was delivered by Doctor Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili, Assistant Professor at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), also highlighted the significance of Isra' Mi'raj or the night journey of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasalam) from Masjidil Haram to Masjidil Aqsa.

This year's celebration organised by the Ministry of Education was conducted jointly by the Department of Information Technology and Communications of the International Affairs Unit and the Secretariat of the National Education Council. It commemorated the Isra' Mi'raj, the lessons derived from it and also fostered closer relations among the staffs and employees of the Ministry of Education. Also in attendance were Doctor Chin Wei Keh, Acting Permanent Secretary for Higher Studies and Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Permanent Secretary for Core Education.
