Superkids Learning Tuition recently conducted baking classes for children between the ages of seven to 12 years old.
The objective of this programme is to expose children to basic baking skills - which enhance their creativity with the belief that every child learns at her own pace, and to adapt a hands-on learning approach.
It is important for children to enjoy new experiences and explore new knowledge during their developing years as they begin to discover the world around them. It is also a fun and meaningful activity for the school holidays.
The class started with an introduction of the ingredients and the steps to make cupcakes by Cedrina Loo, who obtained her Diploma in Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu, a well-known institution in London.
With the assistance of teacher Alyaa and teacher Miriam, children mixed and poured the ingredients accordingly. After the cupcakes were done baking, the children were given an assortment of sweets like caramel popcorns, Oreos and colourful sprinkles to decorate their cupcakes.
Additionally, the children were given an opportunity to make and decorate their own chefs' hat out of craft paper and crayons. The programme ended with each child bringing their own made cupcakes home.
'Baking with Superteachers' has received wonderful feedback from parents.
The establishment is introducing new enrichment programmes throughout the year such as storytelling, baking and cookery classes, little artists - arts and crafts, speech and drama and also music and movement.
