BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Accompanied by their parents and teachers, 60 students from the SMARTER Brunei Autism Centre for Adults (BACA) went on a two-hour cruise of the Brunei River onboard the MV Sentosa, yesterday.

The river tour took the students through Kampong Ayer, and past iconic landmarks such as the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque and the Jong Batu.

According to Malai Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman, the President of SMARTER, the trip was meant to give the students some quality time together with their parents while enjoying the scenic view of the Brunei River.

The activity is part of SMARTER Brunei's community adaptation programme, for the first-term school holidays.

A total of 120 of SMARTER BACA students took part in the two-day activities, which ended yesterday. The programme's main objective is to create more awareness an autism, and at the same time help SMARTER individuals to connect with the rest of the community.
