Stella's School Golden Jubilee Celebration

​His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah graced the Stella's School Golden Jubilee Celebration and Reunion Dinner, 23rd August night. The ceremony took place at Tarindak D'Seni, Bandar Seri Begawan.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri were greeted by Mrs Lise Kim Lee, the Principal of Stella's School. Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Ambassador at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

 

The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Awang Sufri bin Haji Kalong, Head Religious Teacher of Stella's School.

 

Mrs Lise Kim Lee in her welcoming speech among other matters stated that the school wishes to educate on the protection and conservation of the environment so that future generations will be able to appreciate what is so often taken for granted.

 

Meanwhile, Dayang Nurul Sabrina binti Doctor Azaharaini, one of the alumni representatives made a speech of appreciation for the education received at Stella's School.

 

His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri then watched a video clip on the school's history and achievements. His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah received their kindergarten education at Stella's School in the eighties.  

 

The function continued with a cheque presentation by the school's principal amounting to 8,480 dollars to Bru Wild. The school's principal also presented certificates of appreciation to four recipients for their deeds to the school. Among the recipients were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications who was the former chairman of the school's Parents Teacher Association. The function was also highlighted with dance and song performances by the school's students.

 

Stella's School was established in 1969 by its founder and first principal, the late Mrs Stella Litherland. Now the school located in Kampung Sungai Akar, Jalan Kebangsaan Lama has 1 thousand 400 students. In the last 50 years, Stella's School has earned a well-deserved reputation for its high quality education programme.
