It has been 10 years since Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru) became a corporate entity, and to mark this occasion, a thanksgiving ceremony was held on Friday at RPN Kampong Mentiri Mosque.

Jabatan Telekom Brunei (JTB) was corporatised on April 1, 2006, heralding a new era for TelBru.

The guest of honour, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, the Deputy Minister of Finance and the Chairman of TelBru led the religious ceremony which was also attended by TelBru's board of directors, senior management and staff.

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin followed by the reading of Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran, led by Awang Haji Makshud bin Haji Malik, Head Imam of RPN Kampong Mentiri Mosque.

The celebration also witnessed the donation of waqaf items that included a laptop, a projector with tripod screen, a backpack blower and a 2.0hp split air conditioning unit.

These items, which will he used (or welfare activities of the mosque, were handed over by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham to Haji Makshud.

TelBru, a premier telecommunications company in Brunei Darussalam, is the leading service provider for fixed line and Internet and broadband services, along with providing leased lines and data services.
