YTO Express Group, a major express delivery firm in China, reported a substantial increase in revenue in May.

The company's express delivery revenue surged nearly 24 percent year on year to 2.99 billion yuan (about 464 million U.S. dollars) last month, according to a report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Its business volume came in at 1.47 billion in May, up 27.11 percent from a year ago.

Shares of the Shanghai-listed express delivery giant fell 0.1 percent to 10.09 yuan per share on Friday.
