Learning from the experience of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education strove to ensure the welfare and well-being of students, school community and the ministry's staff are safeguarded by prioritising the implementation of suitable Business Continuity Plan, BCP in line with the current situation. Speaking at a Muzakarah or Discussion session between the Ministry of Education and Members of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education explained on a number of initiatives that have been implemented to ensure the continuity of teaching and learning through various platforms. The muzakarah session took place yesterday afternoon at the Ministry of Education.
Yang Berhormat said that in support of teacher's efforts to deliver online teaching and learning effectively, the Ministry of Education provides professional development to teachers in need continuously through the Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy. The minister added various programmes have been provided via online according to the teacher's need.
The Members of the Legislative Council delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit. The Muzakarah session acted as a platform to exchange and share views as well as explore new ideas towards upholding the Ministry of Education's mission. Also present, Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education.
