Customs Prohibited Goods Operation

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

Several locals and foreigners were detained during the operation carried out by the Law Enforcement Division of Royal Customs and Excise Department. They were found to be involved in the selling of prohibited items.

 

In the operation on 31st of May at a house in Kampung Anggerek Desa, 6 foreigners were detained after possessing 4 cartons, 15 packets and 62 stick of cigarettes of various types as well as cash money of $536 believed to be from the selling of prohibited items.

 

On 2nd of June at a house in the Serambangun area, Tutong District, 2 permanent residents detained and 18 cartons, 28 packets and 12 stick of cigarettes of various types were seized. Also seized were 2 unit of vapes and 2 bottles of vape flavoured juice.

 

Meanwhile in the operation carried out on a house in Kampung Sengkarai, Tutong District, 2 locals were detained for possessing 4 packets of cigarettes, 11 bottles of various types of alcoholic drinks, fireworks and firecrackers.

 

Meanwhile, on 4th of June 2022, in an operation at the Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge and in the Kampong Panada National Housing Scheme,, Belait District, 14 locals, a permanent resident and a foreigner were detained for possessing 3 cartons, 7 packets and 94 stick of cigarettes of various types, 11 units of vapes and 4 bottles of vape various types of flavours juice.
