With the advancement in technology, significant efforts are currently being planned and executed to increase the recoveries from the existing oil and gas fields, whilst, effective guidelines and regulation being enforced to achieve a sustainable oil and gas production. yesterday morning, the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam organized an Energy Symposium. The symposium in conjunction with Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022, Brunei MYCE 2022 Energy Week was held at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.

 

The symposium was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office. Earlier, Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office in his remarks said that the symposium discussed and share views on how to shape the new future of the oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam.

 

His Excellency Professor Hidetoshi Nishimur, the President of Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia, ERIA in a virtual keynote address, among others, touched on ASEAN's energy transition challenges. Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer's Dialogue on the Future Energy Sectors in Brunei Darussalam, among others, shared views in shaping the new reality of the future energy sector in the country. The symposium was participated by 230 participants.
