BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday morning made an Unscheduled Visit to Unified National Networks, UNN sendirian berhad at Sumbiling Telephone-House, Jalan Istana Darussalam.

During the visit, His Majesty in a titah expresses his attention and care in several matters related to the benefits or advantages from the unification of three local telecommunications companies, Telekom Brunei Sendirian Berhad, TelBru, Data Stream Technology Communication Sendirian Berhad, DST and Progresif Cellullar Sendirian Berhad, PCSB. Among them were concerns of loss of employment for the locals and positions in UNN's executive management level being monopolised by foreigners. His Majesty reminds that all incidents involving wrongdoings, should not be ignored but looked at with awareness. His Majesty started off the titah by underscoring that UNN is an organisation which 100 percent owned by His Majesty's Government under Darussalam Asset Sendirian Berhad, established on 4th December 2018, with the aim of providing digital telecommunications services in the country.
