President Bounnhang Vorachith on Sept 26 received a courtesy call from Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her delegation on the occasion of her working visit to Laos from Sept 26-27.

At the amicable talks at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane, President Bounnhang praised and highly valued the visit to Laos by Ms Thi Kim Ngan and her delegation as a significant contribution to strengthening the friendly relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments and people of Laos and Vietnam, especially the cooperation between the two National Assemblies.

President Bounnhang appreciated Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s selection of Laos for her first trip abroad after taking office.

In reply, Ms Thi Kim Ngan expressed her gratitude to President Bounnhang for the warm welcome extended to her and her delegation and informed him of the objectives of her working visit to Laos.

Vietnam has always given top priority to consolidating and enhancing the relationship, she affirmed, adding that the two countries are joining hands in organising activities to mark the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 40 year anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in 2017.
