Community leaders, led by the Penghulu of Mukim Berakas 'A', Haji A Ahmad bin Husain, organised a conference geared to help move the nation towards the development of villages and mukims.

The session at the BruneiMuara District Office yesterday was participated by Haji Nordin bin Haji Abu Bakar, Village Head of Kg Jaya Setia/Jaya Sakti and Kg Burong Pingai; PWI (Rtd) Haji Zulkifli bin Haji Ya'akub, Village Head of Kg Pancha Delima, Kg Anggerek Desa, Kg Orang Kaya Besar Imas and Kg Pulaie; Major (Rtd) Haji Mohammad Jair bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Village Head of Kg Lambak `B'; Pengiran Haji Salleh bin Pengiran Kamaluddin Acting Chairman of the Mukim Consultative Council and Haji Jamaluddin bin Haji Tengah, a member of the Mukim Consultative Council.

Penghulu of Mukim Berakas A explained to the Bulletin that the purpose of the meeting was to look for ways to forge closer relations between residents of the community in the villages and mukims.

The session was also to generate discussions to elevate the quality of the villages that included promotional activities and events, to answer the call of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar`Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam to create a prosperous nation that adheres to the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy, he added.

A meeting such as this is important for community leaders to share and gain knowledge in how to move the development of the villages and mukims forward, said Penghulu Haji A Ahmad.
