The hoisting of the Brunei Darussalam giant-sized flag marks the beginning of flag-raising nationwide in conjunction with the 79th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held at the open area of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital, 1st July morning.

The receiving and handing over of the Giant-Sized Brunei Darussalam Flag was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs as the Co-Chairman of the National Committee for the Royal Birthday Celebration.

The ceremony continued with the handing over of the Brunei Darussalam Flag and posters in conjunction with His Majesty's 79th Birthday Celebration to the Acting District Officers for Brunei Muara District, Belait District, Tutong District and Temburong District, followed by a presentation of posters to representatives from the Ministries.
