HULU SELANGOR, MALAYSIA

An accident between two Perodua Vivas on KM 1.5 of Jalan Ampang Pecah here resulted in the death of a driving instructor.

Driving instructor Zainal Azman Mohd Nadzir, 45, was a passenger in a Viva driven by his 17-year-old trainee when another Viva crashed into their vehicle at about 2.45pm Wednesday.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam said the duo had just driven out of the school into the main road heading to Rasa when their vehicle was allegedly rear-ended by another Viva coming from the Kuala Kubu Bharu township.

“The instructor was severely injured in the crash and was rushed to Hospital Kuala Kubu Bharu for treatment.

“He was pronounced dead at about 4pm,” he explained.

It is learnt that the trainee sustained minor injuries in the crash while the 34-year-old Viva driver was unhurt.

The deceased and his trainee were driving in a car belonging to the driving school.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
