The climax of the 96th Police Day was the Parade at the Police Training Centre's Parade Ground in Gadong. Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Inspector General of Police was greeted by Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's son, brother and sisters, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Inspector General of Police, His Royal Highness Prince Muda Mohamed Bolkiah, the Honorary Commissioner of Police, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, the Commandant of Women Police and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Norain, the Deputy Commandant of Women Police.
Shortly after the arrival, His Majesty was invited to receive the Royal Salute and inspect the parade of the Royal Brunei Police Force contingents comprising of 932 personnel from the various departments and formations in the police force.
The Police Day is a symbol of appreciation to police personnel regardless of rank or position, for their sincere services to the country, religion and the Monarch in guarding the peace and security of the people and their properties. The Police Day theme, "Unity and Harmony Strengthen Peace," reflects the unity and harmony manifested in cooperation, togetherness, and helping one another.
As the country's oldest enforcement agency, the Royal Brunei Police Force has undergone many changes and developments in guarding national stability. This year's theme is in-line with the vision and mission of the Royal Brunei Police Force to continue maintaining the peace, order and security.
Formed on the 1st of January 1921, the Royal Brunei Police Force continues striving to provide better quality services in-line with the developments and changing times. Now 96 years old, the Royal Brunei Police Force has planned various initiatives in order to improve its services to the people in ensuring the country's peace and stability together.
In an oath of loyalty led by Senior Superintendent of Police, Chipli bin Haji Mohammad, the Acting Deputy Director of Operations, the officers and other personnel of the force expressed the determination to carry out their responsibilities and uphold the country's laws. Doa Selamat was read by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mohamad Amiruddin bin Haji Tunjang, the Acting Belait District Crimes Officer.
His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then proceeded to the Officer's Mess Banquet Hall for a luncheon. In the era of modernisation, the Royal Brunei Police Force continues to improve its services in order to maintain its image as a much respected organisation.
