Love and affection is crucial and is much emphasised by Islam especially in creating a harmonious family. To get real affection in a family, one must foster harmonious ties with all family members by loving, respecting and being helpful to one another.

This was among the contents of a religious talk during the "Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat" Programme in conjunction with the National Family Day Celebration 2017, held at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital, in the morning.

Earlier, congregants performed the Mass Fardhu Subuh prayer. Among those present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohamad Yusof, the Minister of Culture Youth and Sports.

The talk entitled: "Keluargaku Penyayang Negara Gemilang" delivered by Awang Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup, the Mosque Affairs Officer, emphasised on the importance of shaping a loving family by taking Rasulullah SAW as an example.

Also present were Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as well as members of the Legislative Council. ​
