The Hari Raya break might be over for most people but there are those just about to kick start their festive holiday.

The scenes at Inanam Bus Terminal revealed just that as there were still families and working adults who were about to depart for their respective hometowns, yesterday.

Putra Adrian Syah Noor Hamidori, 22, had to delay his Hari Raya celebration with his loved ones due to unavoidable work commitments.

The self-employed youth had only arrived from Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

“I have been celebrating Hari Raya away from home for the past two years because I was so caught up with my work.

“This year, I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to celebrate this festive month with my loved ones,” Putra said.

Putra, who hails from Sandakan, added that he had been longing to reunite with his family to celebrate this holy month for so long.

Syakila Salatin, 23, and her family had moved to Kuala Lumpur to follow her beloved husband.

“The air tickets for the last few days of the Ramadan month and the early days of Hari Raya were very expensive. It would cost us a lot of money if were to purchase tickets for my family of four.

“That is why we decided to purchase our tickets after the peak days of Raya. That is where the air ticket prices will decrease,” Syakila said.

Despite her husband’s hectic schedule, Syakila’s family will always find time to celebrate Hari Raya at her hometown in Sandakan.

She did note that for this year, their Raya celebrations were slightly delayed. However, she is thankful that everything has been working out well for her entire family so far.
