Kota Junior Seized Sumbangsih Cup After Thrashing Bio FT

BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA

Kota Junior emerged Sumbangsih Cup champions after thrashing Bio FT in a 7-1 victory during the opening ceremony of the Takaful Brunei Futsal Super League 2016 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.

The curtain raiser featured the inaugural winners of the Brunei Futsal League and the Premier Cup from last season competing for the first silverware of the season.

The country's top futsal team Kota Junior went into the break holding a 3-1 lead with Nur Yamin and Mohd Faiz finding the net while Muhd Izrat scored on both ends of the pitch for Bio FT.

However, Kota Junior upped the tempo with an avalanche of goals from Nur Yamin's second of the game, Muhd Aziquddin, Mazri Maidin and Faizul Jefry underlining their dominance.

Kota Junior manager Steven Yeo said his side responded to their lacklustre start in the second half following a team talk during the interval.

Unsurprisingly, Steven sets the target to retain the title but they face competition with usual challengers MS ABDB, Shah United, Arbisyam and even Belait-based PBDB FT eager to wrestle their crown.

Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud, Chairman of Board of Directors of Takaful Brunei Darussalam, presented the prizes.
