​Four Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF officers who had been deployed as part of the Independent Decommissioning Body, Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT) in Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines returned to Brunei Darussalam on 20th June. A Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony was held on 28th June morning, to welcome their return at Surau Ad-Difa', Bolkiah Garrison in Berakas.

 

The Certificate of Participation to the contingent members were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. A Tazkirah titled 'Pengorbanan dan Jasa Dalam Menjaga Keamanan' was also held. Since the establishment of the IDB VMAT in 2019, Brunei Darussalam has sent 18 RBAF officers to participate in the peace process in Mindanao. The participation reflects the country's commitment towards regional and international peace and security, as outlined in the Defence White Paper.
