His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD, watched the 'Malam Gemilang UBD Drone Show'. The performance which was highlighted with a fireworks display took place at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, 11th October night.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office as Pro-Chancellor of UBD; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
On arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education; and Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD.
Stage performances enlivened the 'Malam Gemilang'. The Drone Performance Segment was operated by a local team in collaboration with 40 UBD students.
Watched by some 21 thousand people, the Malam Gemilang was organised in conjunction with His Majesty's 79th birthday celebration and UBD's 40th anniversary.
