The Department of Immigration and National Registration carried out an 'Operasi Panyap' on a business company in Mukim Berakas A.
During the operation, a foreign national was issued a Special Pass for the offence of working while holding a visitor's pass. The Business owner was also issued a summons to appear before the Law Enforcement Division to submit valid documents.
The department also shared two prosecution cases. Muhammad Khanif, an Indonesian national, was sentenced to 7 months' imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping for overstaying in the country after his immigration pass had expired. Meanwhile, Rukimiati, also an Indonesian national, is facing a 22-month prison sentence for three charges, One offence for possessing another person's passport or travel document without valid authorisation, and Two offences under the Penal Code.
