The International Conference on Community Outreach and People Empowerment 2026, organized by Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA in collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah continued on 6th July afternoon with a keynote presentation, delivered by Professor Doctor Mahazan Abdul Mutalib, a professor from the Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia.
Present was Professor Doctor Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad, Assistant Rector for Academic, UNISSA. With the theme “Memperkasa Khidmat Masyarakat ke Arah Pembangunan Ummah Lestari", the presentation emphasised the important role of university in strengthening social responsibility to support the sustainable development agenda. Among the main focus were the role of higher education institutions in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into teaching, research, and community service, as well as nurturing a new generation of researchers and leaders capable of bridging academic knowledge with social realities.
