The Law Enforcement Section has carried out Two 'Operasi Kakas' under the Department of Immigration & National Registration, and one Joint 'Operasi Kakas' targeting several locations in the country.
During an operation on a Business Premise in Mukim Berakas 'B', a foreign national was apprehended and brought to the Law Enforcement Section for further investigation after allegedly overstaying in the country following the expiry of the immigration pass and working for an employer other than the original sponsor.
Meanwhile in another operation at a rented house in Mukim Liang, three foreign nationals were apprehended and brought to the Law Enforcement Section for further investigation. One of them was believed to have been overstaying in the country after the expiry of the immigration pass. Meanwhile, the other two individuals failed to produce any valid documents.
The Joint 'Operasi Kakas' with the Labour Department was carried out on business premises in Mukim Kianggeh. Two summon letters were issued to two employers for further investigation and verification of documents for 3 employers for breaching the employment conditions. Ten companies were found guilty of committing several offences such as failure to provide written service contract; failure to pay overtime; and unlawful salary deductions.
