Two local men were each fined BND50,000 or 15 months imprisonment for first offence, namely possessing 50 cartons of cigarettes without permit.
31-year-old, MUHAMMAD AFFAN ZULKERNAIN BIN BERUNDANG @ DIMAS ANAK BERUNDANG and MOHAMMAD RAFIE BIN NOKMAN, age 29, were also fined BND5,000 each or 5 months imprisonment for second offence of possessing 24 bottles of alcoholic drinks without permit. The arrest was made in front of Puni Mosque, Temburong on 2nd of December 2024. This brings the total fine to BND55,000 for each person or 20 months imprisonment in default. All contraband, namely cigarettes and alcoholic drinks of various brands were seized to be destroyed.
