His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, watched the Karate event at the Malaz Combat Hall, where two national athletes competed in two categories. His Royal Highness in a sabda gave words of advice to the national athletes.
In the Women's Individual Kata, Farhah Syahirah binti Mohd Sahmrin lost to an Algerian athlete in the quarter finals. Meanwhile in the Men's Individual Kata, Mohammad Nazirul bin Haji Johari also lost in the quarterfinals to an athlete from the United Arab Emirates. Earlier, Mohammad Nazirul won the round of 16 against a Nigerian athlete.
