Some 159 female students participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Main Hall of Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School yesterday.
The programme began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of selected surahs, Takhtim, the Khatam Al-Quran prayer and Dikir Marhaban.
Senior Administrative Controller, Diamond Jubilee Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, Mohd Iskandar bin Haji Idris, the guest of honour, handed certificates to the students who completed their recitation of Al-Quran, before the ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat.
The annual ceremony marks students’ completion of reciting all 30 Juzuk of Al-Quran over five years, from Year 7 to Year 11. It also aims to encourage students to make Al-Quran recitation a regular part of their daily routine and to seek blessings through Al-Quran recitation as they prepare for their ‘O’ Level examinations.
