Two Filipina women were prosecuted under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, for overstaying in the country after their immigration pass had expired.
50-year old Rosalie Ribano Policarpio pleaded guilty to the charge, and was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment, plus an additional one month imprisonment in lieu of defaulting fine payment of 800 Brunei dollars. Her sentencing began on the 2nd of February 2026.
Meanwhile, Nasara Mapasi Penaflor, aged 41, also pleaded guilty to the charge, and was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment, plus an additional one month imprisonment in lieu of defaulting fine payment of $800. The sentencing began on the 12th of February 2026.
