The Ministry of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Public Works Department, Ministry of Development is implementing follow-up actions for the New Mosque Construction Project for Kampung Lumut National Housing Scheme. The Ministry of Religious Affairs in its press release announced that based on information obtained from the department, the construction project has been delayed following the termination of the contract with the original contractor in April 2026.
The termination of the contract was made following several factors related to the performance of the project implementation which was found to have not met the requirements and specifications set. Follow-up actions are being implemented including the process of appointing a new qualified and capable contractor to continue the project. The completion of the project is a priority, by ensuring that the project can be completed within the targeted period and meets quality workmanship standards.
