The Royal Brunei Land Force will be conducting Exercise Semangat Waja, starting on 21st January to 30th January, at several selected locations across all four districts.
The Ministry of Defence in a press release informed that throughout the exercise, members of the public are advised to NOT be alarmed by the increased movements of military assets and personnel through land, air and riverine routes. In this regard, affected road and river users are advised to use alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of all parties.
Members of the public are also strictly prohibited from approaching, entering or being present within the exercise areas in order to prevent any unwanted incidents, thereby ensuring that public safety is continuously safeguarded. The Ministry of Defence also emphasized that no photographs or video recordings pertaining to the exercise are to be taken or disseminated on any social media platforms, in order to preserve the confidentiality and integrity of the exercise's execution.
Any dissemination of unverified or false information constitutes an offence under Section 34 of the Public Order Act, Chapter 148 – Dissemination of False Report.
