Strengthening academic-industry collaboration, enhancing understanding of emerging diagnostic technologies, and supporting capacity building within Brunei Darussalam's laboratory workforce are among the goals of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam-Shenzhen New Industries Biomedical Engineering Company Limited, UBD-SNIBE Symposium 2026. The event, held at UBD, 20th June morning, was organised by the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences in collaboration with SNIBE, the symposium also discusses emerging developments in diagnostic science and laboratory medicine.
It was officiated by Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of UBD. With the theme 'Advances in Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay Technologies', the symposium is organised with support from RTCT Diagnostics and the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. It is also held in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition. The 2-day symposium has attracted over 100 participants from across Brunei Darussalam and the region, bringing together researchers, clinicians, laboratory professionals, policymakers, academics, students, and industry experts.
