A total of 210 students were honoured during the Haflut Takharruj and Outstanding Student Appreciation Ceremony of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School for the 1447H/2025M academic year at the school hall yesterday.
The ceremony was held in celebration of Year 10 (Fast Track) and Year 11 students who completed their studies in 2025, while recognising their academic achievements and excellence, with some receiving more than one award based on their achievements in different academic categories.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Al-Quran verses and their essence, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the school anthem.
It continued with welcoming remarks from school principal and chairperson of the ceremony Haji Norhisyam bin Haji Mohd Noor, followed by Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education Dr Hajah Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu, the guest of honour, presenting the awards. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Special Exemplary Student Award for 2025.
For the 2025 Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB) examination, 124 students received Best Student Awards, while 13 received Outstanding Student Awards.
Meanwhile, for the 2025 Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examination, 39 students received Best Student Awards and one student received an Outstanding Student Award.
Awards were also presented to 39 top-performing students in their classes for both public examinations.
The ceremony reflected the school’s commitment to recognising student excellence while upholding Islamic and Arabic education.
It also served as an encouragement for students to continue striving for excellence at higher levels of education.
Such efforts support the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035 in developing an educated, highly skilled and successful population.
