Traders are advised to conduct ethical business activities. The advice was emphasised following an 'Operasi Sepadu' carried out at three business premises in Kampung Kapok, Brunei Muara District. The operation was carried out by the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division, IBE through Weights and Measures Unit, SDT and Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS through the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
As a result of the operation, the SDT Unit enforcement officers found that twelve units of measuring and weighing instruments used for commercial purposes were in compliance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151 and the (Research) Regulations 1994. However, traders were reminded to display the net weight mark for packaged goods to make it easier for buyers to make choices and manage their spending wisely. Meanwhile, all business premises inspected complied with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and Regulations under it.
