The Department of Immigration and National Registration reminds the public to always be responsible and comply with the enforced Immigration Act and Regulations. The reminder was made after several foreign nationals were apprehended in two separate operations targetting three locations in Brunei Muara District.
During the operation at a rented house and rooms in Mukim Sengkurong, four out of 12 foreign nationals were apprehended for investigation. Two were believed to have committed offences under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, for overstaying in the country after their immigration passes have expired AND working not under the original employer. While the other two individuals were apprehended after they failed to produce valid documents during the operation.
In an inspection at a food stall in Mukim Kilanas, two foreign nationals were apprehended for further investigation under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17. An individual was believed to have been working not with the original employer. While, the other individual was believed to be working in a position different from the one stated in the passport.
