World Immunization Week 2026 Celebration

All parents, guardians and individuals are advised to ensure that vaccinations are always adhered to according to the schedule given at the clinics. The Minister of Health stressed that it is very important to prevent the re-emergence of diseases that are still a threat at the global level, especially in a situation of global conflict and population displacement. In a Message in conjunction with the World Immunization Week 2026 celebration, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham Bin Haji Jaafar said, vaccination is one of the most important and cost-effective public health interventions in the prevention of preventable diseases.

According to Yang Berhormat, over the past 50 years, vaccines have saved more than 150 million lives. The decision of each family to vaccinate their children, together with the commitment of health workers to ensure that every child receives the vaccine, as well as the strong commitment of the country's leadership, has helped increase the infant survival rate by 40 percent and protect tens of millions of children from lifelong disabilities. The Minister of Health also stressed that Brunei Darussalam is committed in protecting the nation's health through a strong and sustainable immunisation programme. By ensuring high coverage and equitable access, Brunei Darussalam will continue to protect current and future generations from vaccine-preventable diseases. With the theme "For Every Generation, Vaccines Work", the celebration emphasizes the important role of vaccines in protecting individuals at every stage of life from infants to seniors.
