Customs Offence

A Bangladeshi man was fined 35,100 Brunei dollars or 23 months in prison if in default.

 

Mohammad Iqbal was found guilty of three charges under the Excise Order 2006. The first charge was for possessing 25 cartons and 19 sticks of various types of cigarettes without valid authorization. The second charge was for possessing one bottle of alcoholic beverage without valid authorization, and the third charge was for possessing six packs of cigarettes without valid authorization. All items, including cash amounting 1,805 Brunei Dollars along with one mobile phone, were confiscated.
