BDFA Responsible for the Food Safety Services in the Tutong District and Temburong District

The Brunei Darussalam Food Authority BDFA will fully assume all food safety responsibilities in the Tutong District and Temburong District from the Ministry of Health, effective 1st of July 2026. In line with the BDFA commitment to strengthening and streamlining food safety governance nationwide. This transition marks a significant milestone in the development of a more integrated and coordinated food safety system in Brunei Darussalam, further enhancing regulatory oversight and support BDFA's mission to ensure safe and quality food in the country.

 

The BDFA will be responsible for the food safety services in the Tutong District and Temburong District, including: Conducting food safety and hygiene inspections, food sampling activities, and compliance monitoring; Providing food safety advisory and consultation services; Investigating food safety complaints and incidents; Organising training programmes for food handlers; Implementing public awareness and educational initiatives on food safety; and Collaborating with relevant government agencies and food industry stakeholders to promote safe food practices.
