2nd AI Governance Symposium

The rapidly evolving Artificial Intelligence, AI landscape observed today, inevitably requires a more agile approach in data protection. The matter was underlined during the 2nd AI Governance Symposium organised by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, AITI. The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications said that it is important that the approach to using AI is supported by a commitment to ethical practices that can address the risks of AI misuse and related issues.

According to Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, the effective implementation of AI requires shared responsibility among stakeholders. This collaborative approach is essential to harness such technologies and ensure their responsible development and use. The symposium served as a platform for open discussion and collaboration between government organisations, the private sector, academia and civil society in shaping the responsible use of AI in Brunei Darussalam. It also featured panel discussions between AITI and industry players on how to lay the foundation for responsible innovation in AI. The symposium took place in the capital, 28th August morning.
