32nd Civil Service Day Celebration

 

 


 

With the theme 'Resilience and Unity of the Civil Service: A Catalyst for National Prosperity', the culmination of this year's Civil Service Day celebration was the award presentation to the recipients. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the awards at the ceremony held at the International Convention Centre, Berakas. Also present was His Majesty's sons, brother, and sister: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by:

- Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara;

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence;

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy;

- And Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

 

The reading of Surah Ali-Imran verses 102 to 104 was presented by Awang Haji Muhammad bin Ali, Education Officer of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, while its interpretation was delivered through a video clip.

 

The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence in his welcoming remarks among other things highlighted that inline with the implementation of rapid digital transformation, increased cooperation and strong synergy between the civil service and stakeholders are needed. Hence, various efforts are actively being carried out in stages to further strengthen the public consultation process through a more systematic and inclusive approach.

 

The Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Department was awarded a certificate of recognition for the 4-star rating, or Very Good. Meanwhile, certificates of recognition were also awarded to the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Postal Services Department, and the Department of Fisheries for the 3-star rating or Good via the Public Sector Performance Grading Programme.

 

The Gold Award for the Premier Innovation Award went to the Nextgen Edtech Team of the Educational Technology Centre with their project, 'E-RESOURCES 2.0, Transformasi Sumber Digital Pendidikan Di Brunei Darussalam.'

 

Meanwhile, iNOVATE group from His Majesty's Office received the Silver Award for their project on 'Sistem Pengurusan Digital (Sistem Aluan)".

 

The Bronze award was presented to the MOE Dev-Ops from Department of Information Technology and Communications for their project, 'Electronic Application Service Ministry of Education – Majlis Bersama Rakyat.'

 

46 government officers from 12 ministries were awarded the Excellent Public Service Employee Award. They received a plaque, certificate of appreciation, and one thousand dollars cash.

 

Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti.
