With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 49 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted during a ceremony at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison on Friday.
The promotions comprised five officers from Acting Major to Substantive Major, nine from Substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) to Substantive Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN), 10 from Substantive Captain to Acting Major, two from Acting Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) to Substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN), and 23 from Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN).
The new rank insignia were presented by Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; members of the Defence Executive Committee and RBAF Executive Committee; directors and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence; and family members of the promoted officers.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar.
