A district united by faith and remembrance

Around 1,215 participants from all walks of life took part in the Temburong District-level Maulud Nabi Muhammad SAW celebration for 1448 Hijrah held yesterday morning at the car park area of Belalong Hall, Pekan Bangar Civic Centre Complex.

The event began with the recitation of verses from Al-Quran by Year 2 student under the Youth Al-Quran Recitation Scheme at Senukoh Religious School, Temburong District Mohd Rizq Syauqi bin Abdullah.

This was followed by a special religious talk by Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi.

The programme continued with a Dikir Marhaban performance and the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar by members of the Takmir Committee of Kampong Piasau-Piasau Mosque, Temburong District.

The Doa Selamat and three recitations of Selawat were led by Mosque Affairs Officer at Mohammad Salleh Main Mosque, Bangar Town, Temburong District Syahmi bin Haji Zaini.

The event proceeded with the procession led by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance) Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Awang Haji Mohamad, the guest of honour.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir who is also Village Head of Labu Estate and Piasau-Piasau; and Acting Temburong District Officer Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar also attended.

The celebration was attended by mukim penghulus, village heads, special guests, organising committee members, mosque takmir committees and congregations, as well as participants from procession teams.

The celebration was held to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and to strengthen love and devotion towards the Prophet (pbuh).

The procession also aimed to enliven the roads in the surrounding area and uphold the Islamic faith and its symbols.

The procession served as a platform to strengthen ties of brotherhood among Muslims, bringing together participants from all walks of life, mosque congregations and village residents throughout Temburong District.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Assembly for Maulud Nabi Muhammad SAW celebration for 1448 Hijrah for Temburong District took place simultaneously at the main hall of Pekan Bangar Civic Centre Complex.

The spouse of Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance), Datin Dayang Hajah Binanun binti Haji Bungsu was the guest of honour.

The celebration saw a special talk by Religious Development officer from Pusat Da’wah Islamiah Norhayati binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
