Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Southwest Monsoon, which typically persists until September 2025. Typhoon PODUL was observed over the Western Pacific Ocean around two thousand kilometres away and is forecasted to move North-westwards.
Typhoon 'PODUL' is expected to indirectly influence the country's weather. Active weather conditions are expected to continue until this Saturday. Occasional heavy and gusty showers or thundershowers are expected, affecting many areas of the country. Wind gust of up to 55 kilometres per hour in or near heavy thundershowers. Sea conditions are generally slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.5 metre to 1.5 metre and may increase temporarily to rough state up to 3 metre during gusty showers. The general public, including road users and mariners, are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during active weather conditions.
