A local craftsman started making Keychains in 2008 and continued as a full-time craftsman in 2012. The art of handicrafts making was further expanded with the making of spears, knives, keris and walking sticks and turned it into one of the products of the One Village One Product, 1K1P, Kampung Bebuloh Consultative Council.
Since his involvement in handicrafts making, Awang Mohd Daud bin Haji Lamat managed to sell more than four thousand spears and knives, 30 keris blades and one thousand, five hundred types of walking sticks. The production is done in a traditional way, and according to the demands and the passage of time.
Awang Mohd Daud also took several handicraft courses, especially on the finesse and selection of materials, and the types of wood and metal used in making quality and attractive handicrafts.
Handicrafts is important to be preserved as they can preserve the country's cultural heritage and traditions and give an impact on the country's economy. The efforts and active involvement of people of all ages on handicrafts can also support the development of products that are in line with current trends without eliminating traditional values.
