Asia-Pacific Food Forum

Brunei Darussalam is focussing its efforts on producing high-quality, value-added goods that are safe, competitive, and environmentally-friendly, in a clear and deliberate approach to strengthen its food security. In this regard, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism recognised that growth must go hand in hand with sustainability. The matter was underlined at the Asia-Pacific Food Forum, APFF, held in conjunction with the 38th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific, APRC.

Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism also underlined that natural resources are seen as essential, not optional, in ensuring long-term food security and national resilience. The balanced strategy aims at securing the nation's food supply whilst safeguarding the environment for future generations. The forum serves as a regional platform to accelerate the transformation of agrifood systems through investment, science and innovation, as well as the leadership of women and youth.
