Association empowers former inmates

The Aftercare Support Association (AFSA) continued its efforts to support the reintegration and empowerment of Rakan Seliaan (RS) through a Basic Entrepreneurship Business Programme at Astana Berlian, Jalan Komersial, Kiulap, on Sunday.

Conducted in collaboration with AFSA members Khairol Yazimannudin bin Haji Borhanuddin and Awangku Md Nazirul Mubin bin Pengiran Haji Abd Rahman, the session involved 12 participants, comprising seven men and five women from the Temporary Release Scheme (SPS) and Rakan Seliaan.

The programme aimed to provide participants with basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and practical skills to develop viable business concepts.

Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, business motivation, types of businesses, business registration procedures, and the preparation of business plans, while also taking part in group activities to formulate and present their business ideas.

The knowledge and skills gained are expected to establish a solid foundation for participants to launch small businesses, building their confidence to become self-reliant and generate sustainable income.

AFSA President Hajah Juhana binti Haji Mohd Jaya, AFSA members, and representatives from the Narcotics Control Bureau, who attended to provide support for the initiative, were also present .
