Brunei Darussalam’s contingent to the 4th Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 in Senegal arrived safely and started training after collecting the national contingent’s uniforms under the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC)-PEAK Uniform Programme, a collaboration between ANOC and sportswear brand PEAK.

Ten items of sportswear sponsored by PEAK were handed over to Brunei’s Chef de Mission Pengiran Siti Amal Jariah binti Pengiran Haji Matjinen.

It comprised one set of track jacket and trousers, two polo shirts, three round-neck T-shirts and three pairs of shorts,

National swimming athlete Danniel Chan Zhi Chen and wushu athlete Lauren Emily Chua Yu Qing were also present during the handover.

Both athletes underwent light training sessions yesterday to familiarise themselves with the environment and weather conditions in Dakar while ensuring they remain in optimal condition ahead of their
competitions.

The athletes began their training at the fitness centre gym at the Youth Olympic Village, where both appeared more prepared and comfortable during their workout sessions.

Their coaches also advised them to maintain proper hydration throughout training. – James Kon
