The Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in honour of five of its members who received awards during the 36th Teacher’s Day Celebration, which recognised their contributions and achievements in the education sector.
PGGMB President Haji Mustapa bin Haji Masri, the guest of honour, presented tokens of appreciation to the award recipients, as well as representatives of the association’s committees, members and staff.
Among the recipients were Haji Jamal bin Haji Kahar and Haji Abd Razak bin Bongsu, who received the Distinguished Teacher Award; Haji Hussain bin Mahari, who received the Educator’s Legacy Award; Pengiran Dr Hajah Norkhairiah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim and Hajah Sorianasalwa binti Haji Mornie, who received the Outstanding Teacher Award; and Dr Khadizah binti Haji Mumin, who received the Teacher’s Day Appreciation Award. The programme began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by an address from the PGGMB president and a speech from Haji Jamal.
Haji Mustapa extended his congratulations to all recipients of the 36th Teacher’s Day awards, describing the honours as the highest recognition and appreciation for their contributions.
He expressed hope that the awards would further strengthen the recipients’ motivation, commitment and dedication, while encouraging them to continue promoting excellence, innovation and integrity in executing their duties.
“Such initiatives reflected the association’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its responsibility to look after members’ welfare, particularly those facing difficulties.”
The ceremony also saw welfare donations distributed to PGGMB members.
